Biggest Whip

Biggest Whip was a big-air motocross competition that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 19th, 2019. The event featured nine prolific riders going full-send over death-defying leaps in a battle to bring home the gold.

The original title animation I furnished was a simple 3D extrusion of the event’s logo. In recent years, as I've developed as an animator, I’ve explored building the logo out into a more fully realized title sequence as a personal project. I wanted to see how it would look defined by the glitz, glamour, sparkles and tones of Fremont Street. A look and feel that, while a little unorthodox in contrast with Monster Energy and motocross, would have further established the setting for the event while adding just enough grit to gel comfortably with Dirt Shark’s rowdy footage of huge leaps, burnouts and models.
